Trusting Emgage Certificate - or - How to resolve the error : "An operation failed because the following certificate has validation errors:\n\nSubject Name: CN=license.ateraprime.com, OU=Domain Control Validated\nIssuer Name: ...."

If you've received the above error or are trying to setup trust for Emgage License Certificate for the first time then please follow these steps:

  1. Double click on the file provided as attachment in the article
  2. It will open as a dialog which has two options Install Certificate and Issuer Statement.
  3. Click on Install Certificate
  4. When you click "Install Certificate", a Certificate Import Wizard will start which will help you install the certificate.
  5. Select second option "Place all certificates in the following store".
  6. Click on Browse button.
  7. and Select "Trusted Root Certification Authorities".

  1. Click Next until you get to the Finish button. Once you click Finish, a final confirmation dialog (Security Warning) is displayed to make sure you want to add the new certificate.

  2. Now that you've finished the steps above, the error displayed in the error log is resolved.

  3. Close the browser and visit the site again.
