This article shows how to configure Footer

Who can configure Footer ?

The Users who are a member of "Atera Prime Footer Administrators" and having "Manage Web" permission can configure Footer for all site collection users. Generally, site collection owner's group members have "Manage Web" permission for a site collection. 

How can I configure the Footer?

Click on Gear icon from the right side bottom of the corner.

Only Full control user can see the gear setting icon to access the configure page.

How to manage Footers on Root site?

This is the Footer Configuration on the root site. A root site is at the root of a site collection.

Select Footer: The selected footer would be displayed on the current site.Reset all subsites to inherit the selected Footer: Checking this would set the selected footer as the default for all the subsites under the current site.

 

Footers Manager: Here you will see all the footers you have created. Hovering on a footer will show options to edit or delete the footer.

 

Create New Footer: Clicking this will open the Footer Builder, which will allow you to create a new Footer.

 

Footer Text: This text will be displayed below the footer.

 

How to manage Footers on Sub site?

 

Different between root and sub-site footer is that you can inherit the footer of the parent site.

 

What is Footer Builder?

 

Footer Builder is an advanced tool for easily modify and create a  footer.

To access the footer builder, you can click 'Create New Footer', or 'edit' a footer.

  •  Clicking the arrows anywhere will expand properties of the selected item.
  •  You can have multiple columns of content in your Footer. In the Footer Properties, you can add or remove columns.'
  •  You can add a HTML section or a Link Section to a column. This is discussed in detail below. 
 

On the left, you see the properties for a HTML section:

1. Header: The text displayed on top of this section. (Not required)

2. Header Link: The link that the header navigates to once clicked. (Not required)

On the right, you see the actual HTML Section:

1. On the top is a HTML toolbar, which lets you easily insert HTML content.

2. In the editor, you can view and update the HTML content.

 

On the left, you see the properties for a Link section:

1. Header: The text displayed on top of this section. (Not required)

2. Header Link: The link that the header navigates to once clicked. (Not required)

On the right, you see the links you've added to this section.

1. The properties of a link are displayed once you click the arrow (discussed below).

2. You can easily add a link by simply clicking 'Add Link'.

 

By clicking the arrow in the link you can toggle the properties of that link.

1. Link Title: The title of this link.

2. Link: Where this link navigates to.

3. Browse: This will bring up a popup, allowing you to select a page within your SharePoint site collection.

4. New Window: By checking this, this link will open in a new window.

5. Remove: Clicking this would result in the removal of the respective link.
